Week 7's Challenge (LMS)

1)Mr Tan bought a box of marbles. He put half of the marbles equally into 6 cans and the other half equally into 9 jars. There were 72 marbles in 2 cans and 3 jars altogether. How many marbles did he buy?

2)A table costs $260 more than a chair. The cost of 1 table and 8 chairs is $1034. Find the cost of the wardrobe if 2 such tables cost $558 less than the wardrobe.

3)Ali had 320 ducks and 240 chickens in his farm. He sold 60 ducks and bought some chickens. Then he had twice as many chickens as ducks. How many chickens did he buy?

4)Michael had $84 and Patrick had $132. Michael went shopping and spent some of his money. Then Patrick had three times as much money as what Michael had left. How much did Michael spend?

5)There are some red beads in box A and some green beads in box B. The total number of beads in both boxes is 55. When half of the beads in box A are transferred to box B, the number of beads in box B becomes 4 times as many as those in box A. Find the number of green beads.
