Daily Math Challenge at the LMS - Week 5

Dear all,

I will be posting the 5 questions for week 5 here.

As I am not able to set the system to have only 1 question a day, you will have 5 questions for the whole week.

Please attempt all the questions first before logging into the LMS to key in the answers.

Do take note, you have only one attempt on the challenge.
Hence, please be more careful in your work; avoid careless mistake.

There will be a point system for this and each correct answer is worth 5 points!
The top 3 pupils to get the highest points at the end of Term 3 will get a prize each!

Week 5's Challenge

1) When a number is divided by 4, the remainder is 2.When the same number is divided by 5, the remainder is 3. If the number is less than 21, find the number.

2) Nancy is 12 years older than Jack. 5 years ago, the sum of their ages was 44 years old.How old is Jack now?

3) After using 220 litres of paint, Melvin had 190 litres of paint left. How much did he pay for all the paint if he paid $7 per litres?

4) When I buy some pens at $4 each, I have $3 left. When I buy some pens at $5 each with the same amount of money, I have no money left. If I have less than $30, how much money do I have?

5) David paid $2404 for some chairs.34 of them cost $56 each. The rest cost $50.How many 50-dollar chairs did he buy?
