//“Pass me the ball, Jack!!” Tom shouted loudly at Jack. “Quickly!!!” Jack, Tom, Max and I were playing football at the soccer field near the road. Tom and Jack were about to lose the game.

//As Max and I were about to win, Tom ran… and ran… and ran and gave the ball a mighty kick. The ball went flying across the sky and landed on the road. Without hesitation, Jack immediately dashed across the road without looking out for oncoming vehicles.

//The car hit the brakes hard and the car came screeching loudly to a halt. “Bang!!!” The strong impact sent him violently to the ground. Blood was oozing out profusely from the cut on his wrist. His shirt was caked with filth and blood. The commotion had caused a traffic jam. Moments later, Jack was sent to the hospital. Jack had learnt not to dash across the road as oncoming car may crash onto him.

//The moral of the story is never to drive fast and not to dash across the road.

//“Pass me the ball, Jack!!” Tommy shouted loudly at Jack. “Quickly!!!” Jack, Tommy, Max and I were playing football at the soccer field near the road. Tommy and Jack were about to lose the game.

//Suddenly, Tommy gave the ball a mighty kick and sent it flying to the roadside. Tommy immediately dashed across the road without looking out for oncoming vehicles.Tommy was so engrossed in retrieving the ball that little did he know a car was speeding and heading towards him!!

//The driver did not see Tommy. "BANG!!!!" The driver collided with Tommy. The powerful impact smashed the glass windows into smithereens and sent Tommy violently onto the ground. Tommy lay on the road while his friends stared at him helplessly. Tommy was unconscious and he was bleeding profusely. This accident had also caused a terrible traffic jam. One of his friends quickly summoned for the ambulance with his mobile phone.

//The ambulance came within minutes and rushed Tommy to the hospital. He woke up few days later, only to find himself at the hospital. He wondered why he was at the hospital. He recalled back and remembered he had been hit by a car. He was eventually discharged a few days later and has learnt not to dash across the road as it is dangerous.

//The high sunlit clouds drifted across a clear blue sky. Alif, Omar, Arif and Shafiq were playing soccer after their long work at school. They break themselves into two different teams. After they have discussed with each other, they decided that Omar and Alif would form a team whereas Shafiq and Arif would form another team. After starting the match, Alif got control of the ball and decided to move forward to the opposition side. “Here!” shouted Omar, as he was signaling Alif to pass the ball to him.

//But instead, Alif gave the ball a mighty kick, thinking he would score a goal for his team himself. Unfortunately, he sent the ball straight to the road. Since it was the opposition ball, Arif dashed to the road without looking out for oncoming vehicles.

//He was so engrossed in retrieving the ball that little did he know a car was approaching him. The car hit the brakes hard and for a moment, screeching sounds filled the air.

//Peep! Peep! The blaring horns of the car reached deep into Arif ears. But he was scared stiff. The driver of the car tried to stop the car but...BANG!!! Arif was thrust a few metres away .He was bleeding profusely. Shortly, he fainted. When he woke up, he found himself in a hospital. His friends and family were there with his form teacher. The doctor informed them that Arif should get enough rest before he would be able to go to school again. Surprisingly, a man whom he did not know, apologised to Arif. His told him that the man was the driver who had knocked him down. However, Arif did not want an apology. Instead, he apologised to everyone for being so careless when he was on the road. He is lucky to be alive.

//It was a picturesque morning as the sun proudly beamed its rays of sunshine down upon us. “Why don’t we play soccer?” exclaimed Belvan. “Soccer sounds fun, which means this is a set up!”, Jack shouted excitedly. Arul, Jack, Belvan and I were playing soccer with obvious glee at the field. It was early in the morning and there were no vehicles and people walking around.

//We were so engrossed in the game that we did not notice any oncoming cars. Arul accidentally kicked the ball so hard that sent the ball straight towards the road. All of us saw an oncoming vehicle, except Jack. He bravely dashed across the road as the ball was still bouncing on it. We tried to stop Jack from going further but to no avail. He did not hear us. “Clo…clo…close your eyes!” I exclaimed in a horrifying tone as the car went speeding in a high speed.

//The driver tried to swerve his car as fast as possible, but it was all too late… The sudden impact sent Jack flying ten metres away before landing onto the floor with an unceremonious thud! He was bleeding profusely. The driver dialed for the ambulance immediately. Ten minutes later, the ambulance arrived. The paramedics rushed Jack to the hospital.

//When they reached the hospital, the nurse and doctor immediately gave him a check-up.

One hour later…

No news from the doctor.

Two hours later…

Still no news.

Three hours later…

The door was pushed open and the doctor and the nurse finally stepped out wearing a sad face. We thought they would bring us bad news, but it turned out to be good. The nurse said that he was all right, but he had to depend on a wheelchair temporary. When Jack came out, Arul kept apologizing profusely. Jack said that he would not dash across the road without checking the road in future. He has grown wiser.

Kidnapped
My hands were bound with thick ropes as I tried to figure out a way to escape from the dilapidated hut. I looked around me and saw a piece of broken glass on the decayed floorboards. I reached for it with my bound hands. With my nimble fingers, I quickly used it to cut through the thick ropes around my wrists.

At long last, I was free. I prayed that my captors were asleep as I pried open the creaking windows and crept stealthily out to safety.

Mischief
Jack ran hastily towards me. Immediately, I knew that there was something up his sleeves. He gave me a sly smile and told me that Billy was up to some mischief. How dare he!” Without any delay, I ran at break neck speed to the pond.

I looked to my left.

Nothing.

My right.

Still nothing.

Suddenly, I felt someone pushing me from behind. I tried in vain to maintain my balance and it was too late. I fell into the pond with a loud SPLASH!
