Term 4 Week 2 Daily Challenge (LMS)

1) How many times does the digit “0” appear in a book that is 300 pages thick?




2) An army of ants was moving house.
The soldier ants moved 120g less than half the amount of food on their first trip.
On their second trip, they managed 100g more than half of the remaining amount of food.
They moved 480g of food on their third trip.280g of food was still unmoved.
How much food did the army of ants have at first?

3) David wrote a 4-digit number on a piece of paper and challenged Peter to guess it.
All the digits were different.

Peter : Is it 4693?
David : Two of the numbers are correct but they are positioned wrongly.
Peter : Could it be 1208?
David : My answer is the same of before.
Peter : How about 7925?
David : Wow! Two of the numbers are correct and in the right place as well.
Peter : 4681?
David : None of the digits is correct.

What was the number?

4) Trees are to be planted alongside a rectangular plot of land.
The sides of the land are 200m and 100m respectively.
If trees are planted at an interval of 4m, how many trees will be planted altogether alongside that plot of land?



5) The figure below is made of 2 squares of different sides.
Find the perimeter of the figure if its area is 100cm².
