Maria was on her way home from a friend’s house. When she saw a man trying to break into her neighbour’s flat, a ground floor unit.
‘Click! The door opened. Maria sensed something amiss. ‘Oh no! A burglar is going to break into Miss Lim’s flat! I better think fast!’ thought Maria frightfully. She went back home hurriedly. Soon, she reached home.
Maria informed her mother what she thought. Her mother advised Maria to call the police to alert them what had happened. Maria called the police while her mother acted as a lookout to see if the burglar has left.
The police came shortly after, while the burglar was still ransacking the place.
The police moved into the house swift as a bird and caught the burglar red-hand. The police handcuffed the burglar and brought him back to the police station.
The police commended Maria and her mother for helping to solve the series of burglary in the neighbourhood. The police were very pleased that Maria and her mother did not act by themselves for fear if the burglar was armed. Both Maria and her mother were presented a token of appreciation for their quick thinking.
